Pre-Conference Tour: Champlain and Eastern Erie Canals
Friday, September 22 – Saturday, September 23
Tour Cost: $800 per person double occupancy, $900 single
Includes lodging Thursday and Friday nights; breakfasts, lunches and snacks; Saturday dinner; guided motor coach and boat tours to the Champlain Canal and eastern portions of the Erie Canal; and museum admissions and bicycle hire (for those who wish to ride). Tour originates in Albany and ends at WCC2017 in Syracuse.
Pre-Conference Tour with “Canal Shipwrecks of Lake Champlain” Early-bird Extra
Thursday, September 21 – Saturday, September 23
Tour Cost: $1,065 per person double occupancy, $1,200 single
Includes everything in the Pre-Conference Tour, plus a guided ROV tour of shipwrecks on the bottom of Lake Champlain, a behind the scenes tour of Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, and lakeside meals and lodging at the Basin Harbor Club. Tour originates in Albany and ends at WCC2017 in Syracuse.
Post-conference Tour: Finger Lakes, Western Erie Canal & Niagara Falls
Thursday, September 28 – Sunday, October 1
Tour Cost: $1,000 per person double occupancy, $1,250 single
Includes lodging Thursday, Friday and Saturday; guided tour of sites in the Finger Lakes and along the western Erie Canal, and in the Niagara Frontier; bus and boat transportation; breakfast and lunch on Friday; and dinner on Thursday and Friday. Lunch will be on your own on Saturday with a chance to take in the fun at this year’s “Locktoberfest” in Lockport. Tour originates at the conclusion of WCC2017 in Syracuse and ends in Buffalo.
Monday, September 24 – Thursday, September 28
Includes meals shared with conference delegates (Opening Reception Sunday, Welcome Dinner, Breakfasts Monday through Thursday and cook-out banquet Wednesday); a walking tour of downtown Syracuse; tours to Cazenovia and Seneca Falls, the birthplace of the women’s rights movement in America, plus stops at local farms, orchards, craft breweries, and distilleries along the way to sample the true flavors of upstate New York.

$65 per guest
Wednesday night’s banquet, an upstate cookout on the banks of the Erie Canal, is included in General and Accompanying Persons registrations. In addition to great regional food, there will be music, boats, and glass blowing demonstrations by Corning Museum of Glass aboard their new Glass Barge. Guest tickets are available for purchase for one-day participants and delegates who want to bring friends.
A cancellation fee of 10% will be applied for cancellations requested before July 28, 2017. A cancellation fee of 50% will be applied for cancellations received between July 29 and August 11, 2017. No refund will be issued for cancellations received after August 11, 2017.
The conference organizers reserve the right to cancel undersubscribed pre- and post-conference tours. Full refunds will be made for any cancelled tour but WCC17 will not be responsible for the costs of registrants’ altered travel arrangements.
